Why is "Hindi Divas" celebrated?

'Hindi Divas' is celebrated across the country on 14 September every year. In India on On September 14, 1949, the Constituent Assembly approved the Hindi language as the official language of the government of India, which was approved by the Constitution of India.

Hindi written in Devanagari script was adopted as the official language under Article 343 of the Indian Constitution.

Although both Hindi and English were chosen as the languages of India after independence and the Constituent Assembly accepted Devanagari script Hindi as well as English as the official language, but in the year 1949, on 14 September, the Constituent Assembly adopted Hindi was declared the official language of India.

At the request of Rashtrabhasha Prachar Samiti, Vardha, in the year 1953, Hindi Diwas is celebrated all over India on 14th September. The first "Hindi Divas" was celebrated on 14 September 1953. Hindi is one of the 5 most spoken languages in the world. It is noteworthy that World Hindi Day is celebrated every year on 10 January.
